UCL guidelines for online oral exams

Updated May 15, 2020

Background

On the basis of the exemption given by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science on March 19th 2020, oral exams can be conducted as video conferences or by use of other technical measures WITHOUT invigilator:

The Danish Agency for Science and Higher education has therefore decided temporarily to make an exemption from the requirements of appointing or approving an invigilator, which will be the student during the exam for these oral exams, taking due account of the unusual and wholly extraordinary situation in progress due to the risk of infection with COVID-19, whereby the institution achieves a higher degree of flexibility with regards to planning and conducting the many upcoming oral exams. The requirements pertaining to safety measures remain unaltered.

The exemption runs from today and until the end of August 2020.

Using the exemption given by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science on March 19th 2020 as a starting point, guidelines have been developed for conducting oral exams at UCL via Google Hangouts Meet. There are guidelines for students as well as for administrative staff, examiners and co-examiners.
